There are so many enjoyable things to do at Honcho Rest; you might decide not to venture outside the campground at all during your stay with us.  We are located directly on Bass Lake, bring your fishing poles, and launch your boat at Elk Rapids launch to explore the chain of lakes. If you want to stay close rent one of our fishing boats with trolling motor and fish in Bass Lake.  The sunset is full of an array of colors as it sets on the lake, come sit on the sandy beach to watch the sun go down!  Enjoy a game of horseshoes with friends or a game of basketball on our ½ court basketball hoop.  Our pavilion is a nice place to enjoy the company of old and new friends.  Each lot is paved with cement patio and picnic table and fire ring.

Torch Lake is only a 12 minute drive enjoy the sandbar and Torch River,  the second largest lake in Michigan and one of the most beautiful in the world.

 If you decide to bring your clubs Elk Rapids golf course is just across the street.

The walk up into the village of Elk Rapids is enjoyed by many of our campers.   The village has a beautiful public beach with picnic tables and grills on the Traverse Bay. If you like to shop, Elk Rapids has some shops just for you.  With nice restaurants, candy stores, coffee shops and a bakery there is everything here to enjoy!
